About us
Hi there!
Why we started
It all started with a simple question: why is it so hard to get around Australia? Why is there no BlaBlaCar here like in Europe?
We arrived to Brisbane as PhD students, spending our first years asking friends for lifts or trips to the coast/hikes, renting $200 GoGets to smell the sea, without enough money and confidence to buy a car. Soon, we realised the huge problem of commuting in Australia. You really really need a car. Sometimes public transport doesn't reach where you need to go, and those are often long and unnecessarily expensive. We wanted a better way to move, and we figured we weren't the only ones.
Who is behind DinkiRide?
We're uni students, Carla and Mario, the founders of DinkiRide. This isn't a project from a faceless tech giant. It's an initiative born right here on our local roads. DinkiRide comes from the belief that sharing a ride is about more than just saving on fuel. It's about building a community, reducing our environmental footprint, and making the daily commute for our neighbours, students, and workers a little bit lighter.
Join our journey!
DinkiRide is in its early stages, and every single user who registers helps turn this local experiment into a reality. Thank you for trusting this platform!
Have an idea or a suggestion on how we can improve? We'd love to hear it. Share your thoughts to: contact@dinkiride.com.au
